As I was strolling in a grove
Of ancient trees along the cove
A sigh escaped the leaves behind
I turned around towards the sound
To glimpse a face within a tree
So green, I nearly failed to see
It crystallise among the leaves
Face full of joy and full of grief
It said, these wondrous sleeping woods
Now slumber longer than they should
I say to you, this forest old
Will not be long here to behold
I ask of you, do you know why?
…
The sun shone through its leaves and eyes
It looked at me, and back looked I
